Dealing with the police in Iredell

Hopefully you won't encounter the police for anything more than asking directions but, if you do, follow this advice:

Always provide proper identification if you are asked. It is against the law in Iredell to not identify yourself to a police officer.

Don't be rude or impolite. Policemen in Iredell are just like policemen everywhere else. A little bit of respect goes a long way.

If you are being arrested, don't fight or attempt to run away. This will only make the charges worse.

If you are visiting Iredell from another country, ask to call your Embassy or consulate once you reach the police station. Otherwise ask to call a friend or family member. If you can't reach anyone else, call the hotel and ask them to try and contact someone on your behalf.

Don't buy or sell any illegal drugs. Iredell policeman have no tolerance for this kind of activity!
